If you join the bp society and complete the application form and then participate in the services of the society (e.g. by attending an event), then you are providing us with t some personal data.  This data is necessary for us to provide that service or handle any enquiries. For example, we need emergency contact details of all attendees of our events to so we can handle any incidents.  Provision of emergency contacts details is completely voluntary.

By joining the society you will receive written or email communication relating to the society’s activities, you may opt out of receiving these communications at any time.

  • If you are a member we will keep your data so long as you are a member.
  • If you are a guest at one of our events, we will keep your data for six months following the event.
  • If you choose to unsubscribe from a service, we may keep a ‘suppression list’ containing your details so we know you have unsubscribed.
